Our triple at E-World 2019
29. January 2019A very welcome delivery at the start of the year: the hot-off-the-press certificate confirming our initial ISO 9001 certification by TÜV Rheinland. That’s right, we’re ISO 9001 certified!
When krumedia was founded over 26 years ago, we coded customer systems without version control, and the numerous bugs were hunted down and “fixed” on the live system via Telnet (“SSH is for the overly cautious”). Fast, pragmatic, cheap, and of course, the quality was abysmal. With this 90s philosophy, the founder is now classified by our admins as a “security risk” and strictly kept away from development processes. Still, if he throws himself at your feet begging, he’ll still get the Wi-Fi password. Most of the time, anyway. The guys know what they’re doing.
Our customers in 2026 are largely corporations with high standards for data security and quality. For years now, not a single line of code has left our company without a four-eye check. A competent DevOps department builds sophisticated deployment systems, and the admins ensure that both our software products and our company remain a fortress. Consequently, our certification focuses on high-quality development processes.
Anyone familiar with the ISO 9001 certification process knows that a certificate like this doesn’t just arrive overnight. Rather, it’s the result of months of hard work: development and customer processes were optimized, standardized, and documented. Meetings, internal audits, restructuring, responsibilities, organizational red tape… A big thank you to my hardworking colleagues who took on this extra workload.
Of course, this accolade may open a door or two with customers, but what was and remains far more important is our inherent commitment to quality.
